Frederick W. Summerhill

Frederick W. Summerhill, Jr. of Newton Twp., died Friday evening at his home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frederick, Sr. and Corinne Jacoby Summerhill. He was a 1967 graduate of Abington Heights High School and a graduate of Palmer College, Iowa. Prior to retirement, he worked at Cascade Tissue and as a self-employed chiropractor.

Fred enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a lifetime member of the Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are sons, Fred W. III and his wife Fantine and Thomas and his wife Tiffany, all of Newton Township; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death in 2009 by his wife, Ann Lucille Summerhill.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit with interment to follow at Newton Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 pm to 7 pm.
