Freida Stackhouse

Freida J. Stackhouse, 85, of Tunkhannock passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Grant Stackhouse.

Born on May 5, 1940, in New York, NY, she is the daughter of the late Cecil and Lillian Hammond.

Freida was an avid listener of Christian music and country Gospel, finding comfort and joy in melodies that reflected her unwavering faith. She also cherished the time spent reading the Bible.

She was an avid card player, particularly enjoying games of rummy. Freida was a dedicated fan of the York Giants, always supporting her favorite team with enthusiasm. Among her proudest accomplishments was the close bond she shared with her daughter, Jean, with whom she loved spending quality time.

She is survived by daughters, Jean Allen, Mary Ace, Betty Ioannidis; son, Charles Cooke; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As per Freida's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
