Gabriel Summner Earl-Delucy

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end." – Lamentations 3:22. Gabriel Summner Earl-DeLucy, 20, of Clarks Summit passed away Wednesday afternoon at home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Lori Earl of Clarks Summit and Gene DeLucy of Scranton. Gabriel was a 2023 graduate of Abington Heights High School. He was a member of the Abington Youth Soccer League, and East Scranton and North Scranton Little Leagues.  After high school, Gabriel was a SPC in the Army Reserve – 233rd Quartermaster Company and was a student at Penn State Engineering School.

Gabriel was a loving and caring son and brother. He was a member of St. Thomas More Parish at St. Joseph's Church of Scranton where he received the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation. He was a helpful participant in the early renovations of the buildings on the parish campus.

Surviving are his twin brother Robert Earl-DeLucy; sister Jessica Eve DeLucy; brother-in-law Mike Keller; niece Farrah DeLucy; stepbrother Floyd Celli; grandmothers Ethel Vieira DeLucy and Jean Earl; godparents Jim Vieira, Robert Earl, Jessica DeLucy, and Janet Davis; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers Gene DeLucy, Sr. and Bob Earl, Sr.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Parish at St. Joseph's Church of Scranton, 116 Theodore Street, Scranton by Fr. Eric Bergman. Interment with military honors will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
