Gene Stoeckel

Gene Stoeckel, 92, of Scott Township, died at his home on Wednesday.  He is survived by Yvonne Brotzman Stoeckel, his wife of 70 years.

Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Whitiak and her husband Nicholas of Potomac, MD; and a son, David Stoeckel and his wife Leslie of Crofton, MD.  He also has three granddaughters and two great grandchildren.  Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Carl Stoeckel.  Words cannot express how greatly he will be missed by so many.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert C. Stoeckel, Sr. and Madalene Batzel Stoeckel.  He was a graduate of Clarks Summit/Clarks Green High School and was employed as a milkman for many years.  Prior to retirement, he was employed by Lance Corporation.

Gene was a longtime member and trustee of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman with many hobbies that he enjoyed over his long retirement.

A special thank you to the Hickox and Hall families, along with JoAnn Walczak, all special friends who offered great support. The family would also like to thank Allied Home Hospice for their excellent and loving care of Gene.
