George H. Deeken of Sand Plant Road Tunkhannock died Tuesday in Hospice Community Care in Dunmore. He was born in Carlstadt, NJ on November 6, 1924 son of the late Herman and Evelyn Deeken. George was an Army veteran of WW2 and prior to his retirement he was employed as a book keeper for Hughey Trucking in Tunkhannock. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Bruns Deeken; brothers; Father Julian Deeken O.F.M. and Robert Deeken. Surviving are sons and their spouses; Brian and Joan Deeken of Tunkhannock, Neil and Irene Deeken of Red Bank New Jersey, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Charles Billings of Dalton, Pa. , grandchildren and spouses; Christine and Christopher Brennan, Deanna Bedford, Monika and Jason Adamski, Brianna and George DeLallo, Melissa Deeken, Danielle, Kristen and Arthur Deeken. Great grandchildren Jessica and CJ Brennan, Evan and Lily Bedford, Jared and Gavin Adamski, Roman DeLallo. And a sister Dolores Mahlbacher Palm Springs, Fla. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with the Rev. Richard Polmounter. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to NET Working Ministry, 10 Redwood St., Chambersburg PA 17201
