Gerald D. Kenjorski, 92, of Tunkhannock passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Dickson City.
Born on August 2, 1931 in Nanticoke, he is the son of the late Clement and Sabina (Prutnicki) Kenjorski, and brother to the late John J. Kenjorski (King).
He graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1948 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1952. In 1965, he furthered his education by earning a Master of Arts from Middlebury College.
Throughout his career, Gerald's impact as an educator was profound. He imparted knowledge and wisdom to countless students during his tenure at Archmere Academy in Delaware and later at the Governor's Academy in Massachusetts. His dedication extended beyond the classroom as he shared his expertise during summers at Keewaydin Camp in Vermont and the Profile Club in New Hampshire.
Beyond his teaching career, Gerald ventured into the hospitality industry, becoming a partner at the Nuangola Inn from 1978 to 1985. Subsequently, he showcased his creativity and skills in the graphics department of Brookstone Corp. from 1985 to 1990.
While residing in Tunkhannock, he served as a lector at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Additionally, he held leadership roles as the president of the Endless Mountains Council for the Arts and as secretary for the Wyoming County Cancer Society, where he worked tirelessly towards supporting important causes.
He is survived by sister-in-law, Marianne King; nephews, Daniel King (Joannie) and Carter King (Jill); niece, Karen Kuzel (Chris); great nephews, Peyton, Alex, John, Daniel; great niece, Hannah; special extended family include Susan and Edward Price, Jonathan Price (Miriam), Janelle Price (David).
Family and friends are invited to attend Gerald's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00AM from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery, Nanticoke.
A viewing will be held from 10:00AM until the time of Mass on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Gerald to Wyoming County Cancer Society, PO Box 629, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
