Gerald Joseph Maloney

Gerald Joseph Maloney, 81, of Newton Township, passed away on August 5 ^th at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His widow is Ann Marie Cruciani Maloney, his wife of almost 56 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Martin and Helen Potts Maloney. Gerald was a graduate of West Scranton High School, an Air Force Veteran, and worked as a carpenter prior to his retirement.He was also a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church and Abington Memorial Post 7069 VFW. Gerald was a wonderful husband and father who enjoyed hunting and going on cruises with his wife and friends.

Surviving are sons, Sean of Scranton and Kelly of Maryland; grandchildren Sierra, Montana, Connor, Hunter, and Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter Brooke; brothers Thomas and Frank; and sisters Ann and Joanie.

A blessing service with military honors will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
