Gerard "Jerry" Vincent Kane

Gerard "Jerry" Vincent Kane, 81, Clarks Summit, died Saturday evening at his home. His wife is the former Joan Williams.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late James Gerald and Alice Loftus Kane.  Prior to his retirement, he was a Supervisor at the Acme Markets in Clarks Summit for over 44 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church.  Jerry also bowled for the Holy Name League at Abington Lanes and was a Teener League coach for Norton's Body Shop for many years.

Also surviving are four sons, Jerry, Wind Gap, Sean, Clarks Summit, Brian, Factoryville, and Colin Kingston, NY; a daughter, Beth Kane, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren, Shania, Anna, Michael, Lara and Lillian Kane; and a sister, Marie Murphy, Archbald.

He was preceded in death by six brothers: James, John, Joseph, Frank, Edward and Martin Kane; and a sister, Anna Rotell.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 am in the Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 South State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Reverend Stephen Asomah, assistant pastor.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Elmhurst.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-6pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, PA.
