Gretchen Amanda Carter of Scott Township, passed away on Sunday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Fullerton, California, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Rembert and Claire Carlson Carter. She was a 1977 graduate of Abington Heights High School and a 1981 graduate of Baptist Bible College, where she earned her Masters degree in Education. Prior to retirement, she was a teacher at the Summit Christian Academy.
One of her greatest joys was sharing the gospel while visiting hospitals and supporting missions throughout the world.
Surviving are a brother, Scott Carter and his wife Lisa of California; a sister, Melinda Card and her husband Kevin of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hillside Haven Community Church, 232 Noble Road, South Abington Township, PA 18411 with services by Reverend Stephen Merkh, pastor. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the church, the Lupus Foundation, or the Alzheimer's Association.
