Harry L. Hunter, 74, of Meshoppen passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra (Branning) Hunter.
Born on October 6, 1949 in Dallas, he is the son of the late Harry and Leona (Adams) Hunter.
He was a 1967 graduate of Dallas High School. Harry's professional journey was marked by his longstanding commitment to Procter and Gamble, where he dedicated almost three decades of service until his retirement in 1998. Prior to that journey, he worked in off shore drilling. He later joined NMS working security as the mailman at Procter and Gamble from 2006 until 2020.
He enjoyed spending time fishing on the ocean, finding peace in the vastness of the sea. An avid outdoorsman, he relished moments spent hunting and fishing.
Among his proudest accomplishments was his volunteer work at Back Mountain Fire Company, where he selflessly gave his time and energy to serve others. Harry's face would light up with pride as he watched his grandchildren participate in sports. His love for Penn State was unwavering, a loyal fan through and through.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Laura Wulff and husband Adam, Cindy Gilroy and fiancé William Ball; grandchildren, Ian Jones, Kelcey and Chase Gilroy, Olivia and Gabriel Wulff.
Funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
