Heidi Belin Matthews

Heidi Belin Matthews, 64, of Clarks Summit, passed away on Sunday, August 18th at home surrounded by her family and close friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Gregory Matthews.  Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Joan Belin.

Heidi was a dedicated volunteer to her community in many capacities.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit and a past president and board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania.  She also was an active board member of the Hickory Grove Cemetery and served Waverly Township as a Township Supervisor for many years.  She was employed by Northwestern Mutual for 30 years, retiring in the Spring of 2023.

Heidi adored spending time with her family and friends, and going for long walks with her companions, Emma, Buddy and Cass.  She was an avid member of Rock Steady Boxing of Northeast Pennsylvania and enjoyed Pilates and traveling.

Surviving are children, James (Cora) Matthews and Lori (Jared) El Gayeh and sisters, Wylie Shreffler and Betsy (Dave) Fraaza.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Preston, Quinn, Mila, and Madison.  Heidi was a devoted mother and "Grammy."  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jodie Belin and Leslie McCall.

A worship service will be held on Tuesday, August 27th at 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School Street.  A celebration of life will follow at the Waverly Country Club, 903 N. Abington Road, Clarks Summit from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
