Henry Marlatt, 88, of Tunkhannock passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly A. Marlatt.
Born in Hackettstown, NJ on May 21, 1935 he is the son of the late Kenneth and Muryl Taylor Marlatt.
Henry was a graduate of the Ridley Park High School Class of 1952. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy as a Seabee from 1952 to 1956. After serving his country with honor and dignity, he returned home and embarked on an incredible career that spanned decades.
Henry worked at Bendix for thirteen years along with being the building inspector for Tunkhannock before becoming a Manager & Consultant at Procter and Gamble until his retirement.
Henry was a jack of all trades, with an infectious personality that endeared him to everyone he met. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in others. He never hesitated to go out of his way to help those in need.
One of Henry's proudest accomplishments was traveling the world with his wife. They shared a love of adventure and spent many years exploring new places together.
He is survived by daughters, Debbie (James Dainty) Madill, Linda Willis both of Tunkhannock, Dawn Marlatt of Williamsport; grandchildren, Kristy Maas (Ron), Scott Madill (Hannah), Matthew Detrick, Ashley Detrick, Justin Parr, Eric Willis; great grandchildren, Lucas Maas, Brayden Maas, Isla Cline; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Bob Cummings.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by brothers, John and Bobby Marlatt.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Bobby Jo Kacuba and Aurelia Johnson for their care of Henry.
Family and friends are invited to attend Henry's funeral services which will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00am from the Russell Hill United Methodist Church, 3 Prevost Road, Tunkhannock, PA with Reverend Ronald Folk presiding. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 10:00 until the time of service.
