Jacob “Skip” Felker peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife of 58 years Margaret Ray Felker and family on August 17, 2016. He was born on August 6, 1939 to the late George and Alla Keiser Felker of Berwick and raised by the late Bill and Marion Benscoter of Huntington Mills. Skip attended North West High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956-1959. Skip was a sheet metal worker for Local #44. He helped construct numerous hospitals, schools, and factories. His favorite job working the Berwick power plant. After retiring, he enjoyed working as an electrician and was a member of the local chapter of the Kiwanis and the Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tunkhannock and the American Legion.
Skip was preceded in death by his son William “Bill” Felker, His Brothers George Felker-Fisher, and Charles Felker, and his son-in-law William David Ball. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Margaret Ray Felker, Children; Cindy Ball (Steve), Canton GA, Michaelle Cox (Jeff), Tunkhannock, Robert Felker (Kathi) Scott Twp., Brenda Mills (Christopher), Tunkhannock, and Bonnie Felker, Merion OH. Grandchildren; JoAnna Hutchins (Dan), Tunkhannock, Justin Felker, Dickson City, Maggie Ball (Stephen), Canton GA, Miranda Geertgens (Troy), Tunkhannock, Tim Felker, Lake Winola, James Cox (Rose), Scranton, Megan Bullock, Plymouth, Mary Ruth Sands, Tunkhannock, Rob Felker (Donavon), Pittston, Phillip “Bubba” Felker, Scott Twp., Jacob Felker, Fort Campbell KY, Rebekah Mills, Tunkhannock, Paige Felker, Marion OH, Andrew Mills, Tunkhannock, Alex Ball, Canton GA, Mikayla Mills, Tunkhannock. Skip was also Great Papa to Logan, Lexi, and Luke Hutchins, Patrick, Matthew, and Abby Marbaker, Tanner Geertgens, Bianca Cox, Peyton Felker, DJ Felker, and Eric Corby. In addition, Skip is survived by brother Ken Fisher (Roxanne) , Bloomsburg, Sister-in-laws; Ellen Ray Roberts (John) Salt Lake City UT, Jan Ray Hilbert (Harry), Beaumont, Aunt Jeannie Lameraux, Bloomsburg, Kim Felker, Tunkhannock, Beth Brown, Tunkhannock, Bob and Marcy Rau, Hickory NC, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday August 21, 2016 at 3PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home 73 W. Tioga Street Tunkhannock PA, 18657. Friends and family may call the funeral home from 1PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Jacob to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The American Cancer Society of Wyoming County.
