James L. Corselius passed away on September 18 th . Jim was born in Ransom Township, the son of Lura Klipple Corselius and Floyd S. Corselius. He lived his entire life on his beloved family farm and passed away peacefully at home, on that same farm, 88 years later.

James married his wife, Sandra Virtue, in 1966. They shared a devoted fifty-six year marriage together. They have two children, Douglas James Corselius (Amy), Bel Air, MD and Kristen Corselius White (Todd), Ashhurst, New Zealand. They also have four grandchildren: Jacob and Anna Corselius and Sarah and Hamish White.

Jim graduated from Newton-Ransom High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army, then graduated from Penn State University in 1962. For 38 years, he worked as the Regional Manager for MCS Business Services of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, doing what he loved most, helping farmers.

Jim served his community for many years, sitting on a variety of boards including the Lackawanna Co. Agricultural Land Preservation Board, the Ransom Township Zoning Hearing Board, and United Methodist Homes Board/Wesley Village Board. He was also a member of the Clarks Summit State Hospital Board.

Jim was a faithful member of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church, also having served on the Trustee Board and the Endowment Fund Board.

Jim is survived by his brother, Dr. Neil Corselius, and sister Rebecca Roberts (Richard), and many adoring cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, in-laws Frances and Ivan Virtue, brother-in-law Ivan Virtue and his wife Jane Virtue, sister-in-law Lois Virtue Siverling, sister-in-law Susan Corselius, brother-in-law Dr. Darwin Braund, and niece Pamela Sue Braund.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, Clarks Green, PA, with services by Reverend John Bondhus. It may also be viewed remotely at https://youtu.be/VuwVXzqg8OE

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Our family would like to thank his caregivers, Karen, Debbie, Matthew, and Marianne. The Allied Hospice staff was also excellent and committed to his care and comfort.

Memorials can be given to the United Methodist Homes, 10 Acre Place, Binghamton, NY 13904, the Trustee Fund of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, Allied Hospice Services of Scranton, or the charity of your choice.
