Listen to Obituary

In loving memory of Jim/Dad/Granpy.
August 16, 1946 – May 21, 2024

James "Jim" Costello, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 77 in South Abington, Pennsylvania.

Born in Ilion, New York, Jim was the son of Helen and Thomas Costello. A graduate of Abington Heights, he joined the Air Force Reserves after high school and later became a splicing technician for Verizon Telephone.

Jim was a dedicated family man, the rock of his family. He leaves behind his wife of forty years, Sharon; four children, Joshua, Melissa, Jamie, and Sean; and three grandchildren, Michael, Lydia, and Elizabeth.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. He spent many happy hours building a home and garden with his wife. When not practicing his expert napping skills, Jim liked to spend time in nature. He appreciated camping, skiing, sail boating, and biking.

Jim's defining characteristics were his kindness, gentleness, strength, and quick wit. His calm reliability was a guiding light, and his love and support will be deeply missed.

Private services will be held at a future date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary. Arrangements by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.
