James T. Nally

James Thomas Nally, 82, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy T. Nally in 2015.

Born on September 21, 1943, in Carbondale, he is the son of the late John and Frances (Barber) Nally.

James was a 1961 graduate of St. Rose High School. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard.

He initially contributed his talents to Procter and Gamble. Later in life, James worked as a baker while also providing maintenance services at Sunnyside Cemetery.

He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and joy in the peacefulness of the water. He also had a passion for repairing and collecting trains.

Additionally, he was a member of the Nativity BVM Church.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Nally; sister, Janet Price; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by son, James Nally; grandson, James Nally III; brother, Jack Nally; sister, Mary Katherine Sonntag.

Family and friends are invited to attend James' Celebration of Life which will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Deacon Ray Pieretti presiding.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service on Friday.
