Jane Ell

Jane Ell, 81, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, David Ell, Sr.

Born on January 23, 1943 in Manhattan, NY, she is the daughter of the late Carl and Jenny (Ulawski) Gladey.

Jane graduated from Westmoreland High School, Shavertown, PA in 1961. She then graduated from Empire Beauty School in 1963 and was honored with the Outstanding Student Award.

Throughout her career, Jane dedicated herself to public service. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she held positions at the Wyoming County Commissioners Office as an administrative secretary and served in various other administrative roles.

One of Jane's proudest accomplishments was her unwavering commitment to youth organizations. She volunteered tirelessly as a PTA secretary, Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout den mother, T-ball coach, and CCD instructor.

Jane will be remembered for her kind and loving personality. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her presence at all her grandchildren's activities brought immense joy to both them and her.

Jane was also a dedicated fan of the Phillies and Pittsburgh Panthers.

She is survived by daughter, Debbie Lord and husband Douglas; sons, David Ell and wife Colleen, Douglas Ell and wife Marla; brother, Carl Gladey and wife Noreen; son-in-law, John Tucker; grandchildren, Meghan Ciocchi (David), Michelle Tucker (Kyle McManamon), Rachel DeSando (Todd), Lindsey Finch (Brandon), Courtney Villoch (Robert), Ryan Ell (Ashley), Jessica Fowler (Mitchell), Brooke Ell, Jordan Ell; great grandchildren, Layla DeSando, Cora Ciocchi, Conor Finch.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by daughter, Janice Tucker.

Family and friends are invited to attend Jane's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Saturday.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
