Jerry Hill, 64, died on Thursday morning at his home in Dickson City after fighting stage 4 cancer for almost 3 years. He was the husband of Haydee Merontos Hill. The couple were married 17 years.

Born in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Earl and Lucretia Keller Hill, Jr. He was a career Marine, serving his country as a Gunnery Sgt. for over 20 years. Jerry was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, Scranton. He was loved by his family and friends.

Surviving are two children, daughter Abby-Phylaine Hill and son Jayden Hill, both of Dickson City; two brothers, James Hill of Factoryville, and E. Thomas Hill of Fairfax, VA; a sister, Suzie Morgan of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.

A blessing service with military honors will be held on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Cyril D. Edwards. Friends may pay their respects from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House or American Cancer Society.
