Joanne August

Joanne August, 92, of Clarks Summit, died at Allied Services, Scranton, on Tuesday. She was the widow of John David August, who died in 1992.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Jean Snyder Peck. She was a graduate of Pittston School of Nursing and, prior to retirement, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at Clarks Summit State Hospital and Mercy, Scranton. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Clarks Summit.

Surviving is a son, David, and a brother, Richard Peck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Jean, in 1984; a brother, Buzz Peck; and a sister, Suzanne Earl.

A funeral will be held on Monday at 6:30 pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 415 Venard Road, Clarks Summit. Friends may call from 5:30 pm until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
