Joanne Edwards

Joanne Edwards of South Abington Twp. died Saturday afternoon at Allied Hospice in Scranton.  She was the widow of Lewis Edwards Sr. who died in 2015.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Sopky Morava Sr.  Joanne received her Master's degree from Marywood University.   Prior to her retirement she was the elementary art teacher for the Lakeland School District.

Surviving are two sons, Lewis Edwards Jr., Dalton and Andrew Edwards, Scranton; two grandchildren, Emma and Jackson Edwards.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Morava Jr. and a sister Barbara Morava.

A blessing service will be held on Saturday at 5 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.  Friends are welcome to pay their respects from 3 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the donors favorite charity.
