John Beemer

John Beemer, 82, of Dalton, died at his home on Tuesday afternoon.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Rowland and Emily Rice Beemer. Prior to retirement, he held several jobs including working on the pipeline in the 60's, owning an excavating business in the 80's, owning a timbering business and building log cabins in the 90's, as well as owning a grocery store in Maine in the 90's, then owning an excavating business. John was a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and old Ford pickup trucks. John also loved his cats.

Surviving are son John, Jr. of Nicholson, and Aaron and wife Chris of Dalton; grandchildren Jessica, Hannah, Lauren, Breyana, Rachael, Brooke, Julianna, Emily, and Autumn; great grandchildren Layla Rae and Reign; a sister, Nancy Mercado; and numerous friends who were like family to him.

There will be no public services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit.
