Born in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Evelyn Paulus Halloran. He graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1982 where he was a 3-sport athlete in football, basketball, and Track and Field and he was voted "Best All Around" his graduation year. He then graduated from SUNY Alfred.

If you were to ask anyone who encountered John, they would say "he is one of the good ones." Johns' biggest accomplishment and number one priority was raising his daughter, Stephani. John was currently employed by Frontier Communication of Tunkhannock, PA for the past 26 years. John shared a mutual interest in swimming with his daughter and volunteered as the Tunkhannock Tigershark Assistant Swim Coach for 10 years.

John was an avid traveler. His favorite destinations were Las Vegas and Florida. He spent most of his free time outdoors, tending to his yard, sitting around a bon fire, and golfing. He adored his faithful furry companions Honey, Shasta, and April. Additionally, John grew up in a sports-loving family and he was a big fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and Syracuse Orange. He also enjoyed NASCAR. John will be deeply missed and the impact he made on others will never be forgotten.

He is survived by daughter, Stephani Halloran; brothers, Michael Halloran and wife Ruth of Theresa, NY, Kevin Halloran, of Centennial, CO, and Thomas Halloran of Endicott, NY; sisters, Kathleen Jaros and husband Mike of Endicott, NY, Maureen Silkworth and husband Jim of Endicott, NY, Patricia Beddoe of Endicott, NY, and Mary Halloran of Binghamton, NY; ex-wife and dear friend, Tina Sjoblom and husband Kenneth Bulford; nieces, Katrina Halloran, and Rebecca David and husband Matt, nephews, Gary Beddoe and fiancé Shannon, Ian Silkworth, Troy Beddoe, and Sean Silkworth; great nephew, Grayson David.
