John E. Irish, 67, of Falls passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tracy (O'Brien) Irish.
Born on July 13, 1957 in Milford, CT, he is the son of the late James and Dorothy (Boland) Irish.
He was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School. John embarked on a longtime career at Tunkhannock Auto Mart, where he served as their finance manager for several decades.
John was an avid hunter who cherished every moment spent in nature. He loved teaching his kids and their friends how to shoot, whether it was target practice or clay birds, and took great pleasure in hunting and fishing. His passion for the outdoors was only matched by his dedication to family and friends. John found immense joy in spending time with loved ones, whether through backyard barbecues or fireworks displays that lit up the neighborhood. He made sure everyone had fun, creating lasting memories that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Later in life he always had a fridge full of treats for his grandkids, and beverages for guests of his open-door policy. He was full of wisdom and offered advice to all that sought his counsel. All the way up to the end he would constantly show and express his undying love for his wife, Tracy, blowing her kisses and telling her he always loved her the most.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Michael Irish and wife Alexandria; daughter, Kelly Irish; sisters, Pat Shyshuk and husband Nick, Margaret Nauroth and husband Ed; brother, Joseph Irish; grandchildren, Emily, Luke and Melanie Irish, Abigail and William Crawford; special friends, Ezra Voda, and Margaret Kanu; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
