John Beggin, Jr.

John Beggin Jr., Dalton, died Sunday morning at The Gardens for Memory Care at Easton, PA.  He was the widower of Deanna Holleran Beggin who died on August 24, 2022.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Mary Hrapchak Beggin. He was a 1958 graduate of Jessup High School, then served in the US Air Force for six years.  Prior to retirement, he was a member of the Pipefitters UA Local 524.  He was member of Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, Dalton.

Surviving are his daughters, Kathryn Valdez and her husband Michael, Dalton; Erica Kehrli and her husband Richard, Springville; and Monica Wilga and her husband Thomas, Dalton; grandsons Dan Wilga and his wife Cheryl, Los Angeles, CA and Joseph Wilga of Brooklyn, NY; a sister Mary Ann Duchnik of Scott Township; a brother Stephen Beggin and his wife Marlene of Peckville; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank CMC Geisinger of Scranton, The Gardens for Memory Care at Easton, and Serenity Hospice.

Funeral services with military honors will be private at the convenience of the family at Greenwood Cemetery, Dalton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
