John Mirabelli, 84, of Newton Township, died on Tuesday at his home. His widow is the former Marilyn Richards. The couple were married 67 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret Poggi Mirabelli. John was a self-employed truck driver who traveled the country. He was an active member of Countryside Community Church and will be remembered as the helpful and welcoming face who greeted everyone as they entered the church. John was proud of his sons and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He could build or fix anything and was always eager to help anyone in the community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons David, Douglas, and Donald; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son Dean Mirabelli and brother Frank.

A funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Drive, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. James Hollister. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Countryside Community Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clarks Summit.
