Listen to Obituary

Jonathan Edward Rarrick (Piazza), 31, of Clarks Summit died on Sunday after a sudden cardiac event.

Born in Easton, he was the son of Debra Piazza Rarrick. He was a member of Church of Saint Gregory.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Ben Rarrick, of Clarks Summit; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jonathan was loved by his family and friends and was always thought of as a gentle soul.  He was always kind and compassionate.

Jon truly enjoyed all of his friends and family, of which he had many.  He loved all his dogs throughout the years, and recently even became a cat person.  His years at Abington playing football with his teammates brought him great joy.  He was a lifelong Steelers fan and, more recently, a fan of the Miami Hurricanes.  He loved cooking and fishing and other outdoor activities with his close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm at Church of Saint Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit.
