Joseph T. Gardier, Newton Township, died Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. He was the widower of Jeanne Beck Gardier, who died in April 2019.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Louis and Rose Tedesco Gardier. Joe was a prominent florist in Clarks Summit for many years as the owner of McClintock Florist. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army, as well as a member of the Abington Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Beck and his wife Karen Shea of California, and Michael Beck and his wife Christine of Clarks Summit; two sisters, Angelina Cowart and her husband Jack of California, and Pauline Simmons and her husband James of FL; four grandchildren: Cierra, Michael, Davon, and Gabrielle.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Theresa Barrett, Leonore DePaola, and Mildred Nicholson. Three brothers: Dr. Robert, Anthony, and Donald Gardier.
A blessing service will be held on Thursday, at 10:30 AM at the Lawrence E Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 with services by Rev. Abrogaste Satoun. Interment will immediately follow in Newton Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
