Joseph Janichko

Joseph Janichko, 99, of Waverly Twp., passed away on Wednesday at Allied Services, Scranton. He was the husband of Catherine Janichko, who passed in 2022.

Born in Dalton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Lesh Janichko. Joe was a graduate of Waverly High School and, prior to retirement, was employed as a welder at Wesel Manufacturing. He was a life member of the Dalton Fire Company and a member of Northeast PA Firemen's Federation and the Antique Car Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Werner and her husband, Arthur, of Clifton; niece, Maryann Karchiski, and nephew, John Shandrey.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
