Joseph M. Menichiello

Joseph M. Menichiello passed away peacefully on May 31st surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Clarks Summit, he was the son of Martin and Nina Toscano Menichiello. He was a 1968 graduate of Scranton Technical High School, then earned a carpentry degree from Johnson College in 1971. Upon graduation, Joe began his remodeling and home building company. He built a reputation of being one of the finest builders in the Clarks Summit area, bringing him to serve as President of the Lackawanna Home Builders Association for many years.

Along with his carpentry skills, he was also a talented vocalist. Music was a passion of his as he sang lead vocals in area bands throughout his teens and much of his early adult life. Joe's love of sports, especially racketball, softball, bowling and golf provided much enjoyment for him and his buddies during his recreational time. Aside from his family, his canine companions Jake, Jojo, and Bailey brought him much joy.

He is survived by his daughter Kelly Menichiello; brother Martin Menichiello and wife Linda; granddaughter Jaden Dzedzy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son Justin in 2021.

A blessing service will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
