Joseph G. Yurksza, 79, of Tunkhannock passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlene Yurksza.
Born on May 19, 1946, in Tunkhannock, he is the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Durland) Yurksza, Sr.
Joseph's professional journey began at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory, where he dedicated his skills and commitment from 1967 until 1989. Following his time there, he continued to serve the community as a valued member of Keystone College, where he worked until his retirement in 2014.
He was known for his passion for sports. He cherished watching his favorite teams, including the New York Yankees, New York Giants, New York Knicks, and Penn State. His love for sports was matched only by his devotion to his family. He also found joy in coaching baseball for Tunkhannock. Additionally, he attended the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph Yurksza, III (Maria); brother, Jim Yurksza.
He is preceded in death by sisters, Betty Jo Yurksza, Arcilla Yurksza, Rosella Johnson; brother, Robert Yurksza.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joseph's funeral services which will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church, 181 Bridge St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
