Joyce Barber, 64, a lifelong resident of Tunkhannock PA, she passed far too soon Wednesday morning in regional hospital of Scranton on November 3rd, 2021, with her comforting family by her side. She is survived by her husband David Barber, Sr.
Born in Sayre she was the daughter of the late Francis and Naomi Elliot Jayne.
Joyce attended Tunkhannock Area high school where she met the love of her life David Barber Sr. Joyce and David were married 46 years and withheld 5 loving children
She spent her time taking her grandchildren to yard sales and restaurants. She enjoyed fishing on the weekends with her husband and going for walks with her children in the park. She loved the beach more specifically Atlantic City; she often went to the ocean multiple times each with her family in the summer. She also loved to hike Ricketts Glen in the warm summer months. Joyce will be greatly missed as she was her family’s source of joy, kindness, peace, and love.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband David Barber Sr; her adored sons, David Barber, Jr., Tony and his spouse Jennifer Barber, Scott Barber and his partner Ella Warfle; her cherished daughter Melissa and her husband Jason Walter, Sr.; siblings, James Jayne, Wyatt Jayne, Frances (Kay) Gregory, and Theresa Milbrodt; loving grandchildren, Emily Barber, Samantha Barber, Alec Walter, Nicole Barber, Jason Walter Jr., Ryan Barber, and Jayden Thompson.
Joyce’s loving memory will live on through her family. She was and will be deeply loved and missed.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Lynn on September 22, 1995; brother, Alvin Jayne; grandson, Tony Barber, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joyce’s funeral service which will be held on Monday November 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
