Judith Ann Harvey, 84, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
Judy was born on December 22, 1939, in her hometown of Tunkhannock. She is the daughter of the late Roger and Evelyn (Santee) McLaud.
Judy was a 1957 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and continued on to graduate from Keystone College in 1959.
She and her husband spent the early years of their married life in Tacoma, Washington returning to Tunkhannock after his discharge from the Army. They eventually settled in Eatonville, where they resided for 57 years. She enjoyed a 40-year career working as a bookkeeper at Mile Hill Auto Parts.
Judy loved to travel and spent summers vacationing with her family. She especially enjoyed Disney World and visited there every chance she could. Holidays were always spent at her home where she hosted family and friends; everyone was welcome. Judy was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and was always up for a challenging game of Trivial Pursuit. She was passionate about politics and always ready to debate. She especially enjoyed her weekly lunches catching up with classmates and family. Judy was a long-time member of the Tunkhannock Moose Lodge and back in the day was an excellent shuffleboard player. She was a dedicated member of the Tunkhannock Area School Board for 18 years, serving as President for several of those years.
Judy is survived by daughters, Ellyn Harvey (Rick), Kathryn Strunk (Greg), Tracy Sheridan (Chris); sister, Linda Nichols; grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Miranda, Meghan, Tommy, Claire; great-grandchildren, Althea, Jackson, Eden, Ezra and dog, Missy.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cyril (Joe) Harvey and granddaughter, Olivia Strunk.
Family and friends are invited to attend Judy's memorial service which will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 12:00 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73. W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Judy’s name to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
