Judith B Loftus Klein, originally from Clarks Summit, and a longtime resident of Goleta, California passed away at home, surrounded by her family, Wednesday evening, February 19th.
Judy and her husband, Professor Stanley Klein had been married for almost 38 years.
Born in Scranton and raised in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of the late James J Loftus and Nancy M (Loftus) Loftus.
She was a 1972 graduate of Abington Heights High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. She was also first chair violinist in the Pennsylvania State High School Orchestra. Judy earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois.
A lifelong devotee of yoga, she ran her own studio for many years. Just outside of the studio was her garden, which she took great pride in maintaining. Judy was also an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering at the public library and participating in various book clubs. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and the many pets that have lived with them throughout the years.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her two sons Nathaniel and wife Dana, of Los Angeles, CA., Elijah Klein of Santa Barbara, CA; grandson, Jackson Klein; sister Margaret Loftus Morrison and husband Daniel, of The Villages, FL; brothers Edward Loftus, of Seattle, WA and Christopher Loftus of Clarks Summit.
A celebration of life will be at a later date at the family's discretion.
