Judith Ann Seymour, Scranton, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Monday. She was the widow of the late Donald Edwin Seymour, Jr.
Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Emrys and Josephine Sosnoski Thomas. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and, prior to retirement, she was employed as a seamstress and a receptionist at Scranton Primary.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Klush, and infant twins John and Joseph.
Surviving are daughters, Donna Passino (Scranton), Lisa Florey (Moosic), and Theresa Stanton (Aynor, SC); grandchildren Candice Ahrendt and husband Daniel, Brad Passino Jr., Karen Fritchman and husband Andrew, Jacob Florey, Stephen Florey and wife Kaylee, Troyel Klush, Shelby Klush, and London Stanton; great grandchildren, Adam and fiancee Cheyanne, Rosemary, Donna, Nati, Kayle, Jameson, Lucas, Natalie, Morgan, Nathan, Rylan, Cameron, Colin, and Owen; and great great grandson Abel.
Judy was a woman of extraordinary heart. Her door was always open, her arms always ready to welcome others, and her words were always kind. To many, she wasn't just a mother or grandmother, she was "Nana", a constant source of comfort, wisdom, and laughter. She had a unique way of making everyone feel like family, no matter how they came into her life.
Her family was her world, and she was the heart of ours. She celebrated every victory, comforted every sorrow, and cheered the loudest at every game, recital, or life event. She made holidays magical, ordinary days special, and every moment with her unforgettable.
Nana Jude had a love for the simple joys that made life sweet. She never missed her Hallmark Channel movies and was always up for a good game show, calling out answers like she was right there on stage. Bingo nights were her favorite kind of fun, and she was a proud fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
A lifelong lover of animals, she found joy and purpose in caring for her furry babies Linus and "ghost cat" Scooter, who returned her love with endless devotion.
She leaves behind big shoes to fill, but her legacy lives on in the kindness we show, the love we share, and the family we hold close.
We will carry her spirit with us, and are forever grateful for the time we had and the love we'll never lose.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
