Judy Ann Petty

Judy Ann Petty of Clarks Green passed away on Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband William A Petty. The couple was married for 58 years and celebrated their final anniversary in January.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gloria Major. Judy's passion was working with her flowers in her vibrant gardens. When vacationing in Florida, she loved taking long walks on Daytona Beach with her dog, Lola, and visiting family. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and shopping for family and friends, where she never found a bargain she didn't like. Loving, compassionate and supportive, she never missed any special occasions with close family and friends. If she wasn't working in her garden at home or entertaining at her condo in Florida, she was visiting her grandchildren in New Jersey, brother Ken in Virginia, or taking trips to Alaska with her sister Joann and the Bahamas and Hawaii with her husband. Prior to her retirement, she worked in sales at Periodical Publishers and ICS.

In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by sons William B Petty and his wife Deborah, and Michael Petty; grandson William B Petty II; granddaughter Samantha Petty; sister Joann Scott and her husband Richard; brother Ken Major and his wife Judy; and her loving dog Lola.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert L. Major.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends and family may pay their respects from 10 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
