Katherine P. Boyce

Katherine P. Boyce, 91, of Tunkhannock passed away on Saturday October 30, 2021 at the Gardens of Tunkhannock. She was preceded in death by Foster Boyce in 1995. Born in Canton, PA on March 1, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Vance (Sam) and Marcella Rhodes Palmer. She was a graduate of Canton High School and was able to put herself though Beauty School. She then bought her own beauty shop in Canton while her husband was serving in the United States Army. She was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Katherine loved sewing, knitting, and helping out at the church bazaars. She later made many friends while working at Brick Grocery store for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and grandkids. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Sands and husband Gary VanVranken; brother, Robert Palmer; sisters, Phyllis Metzgar and Sharon Merrick; grandchildren, Sean Sands and Eric Sands and wife Tracy; great-grandchildren, Gabriela, Victoria, Laura, Lincoln Sands. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Vicky Lynn Boyce; son, Steven Robert Boyce. Family and friends are invited to attend Katherine’s funeral service which will be held on Thursday November 4, 2021 at 11:30 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor Tenny Hutchison Rupnick presiding. Interment will follow in Grover Cemetery, Canton. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday.
