Listen to Obituary

Kay Louise Jacoby, 79, of Newton Twp., passed peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, September 26th.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on October 13, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Karl Benn Leonard and Helen Louise Gardner Leonard, and sister of the late Donald and Dorothy Leonard. She graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School in 1960. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Harlan Jacoby for nearly 54 years.

Family truly meant everything to her and she held the memories of family get-togethers dear to her heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, traveling in her RV, watching nature, and her dog, Sunshine. She was also an avid Celtics fan.

All that knew her would agree that she had a heart of gold and a gentle, guiding spirit. "I'm staying strong with my lipstick on!" and "I love you to the moon and back!" were two phrases she would often say. She will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are four daughters; Janis Williams and husband, Chet, Clarks Summit; Karen Ranocchia and husband, Mike, New Port Richey, Fla.; Sharon Myers and husband, Allan, Falls; and Heather Ross and husband, Brian, Clarks Summit; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA.
