Keith Petty, 79, of Ruskin, Florida, formerly of Dalton, died on Monday 12/19/22 at HCA Florida South Shore Hospital. He is survived by Diane Ransom Petty, his wife of 58 years.
Born in Milwaukee, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Oswald Ward and Romaine Schoaff Petty. Keith was a 1961 graduate of Newton-Ransom High School and a Veteran of the Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed mason throughout the Abington Area as well as Bricklayers Union BAC local 5 Scranton chapter. Keith was an avid fisherman, Boy Scout leader, and Little League coach with the Christy Mathewson league.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce and his wife Deborah of Gouldsboro, and their children, Emily, Lillian, Joel, and Mason and their granddaughter Ansley; and Scott and his wife Devon of La Plume, and their children Darien, Daisy, and Clinton; three sisters, Kay Moore of Oxford, Helen Reed of Newton Township, and Virginia Palski of Exton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Petty.
A service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Reverend Jean Blackie, pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Company, 1890 Newton-Ransom Blvd., Clarks Summit, PA 18411 or Hillside Park at Abington Area Joint Recreation Board, 1151 Winola Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
