Larry B. Gibson, 74, of Monroe Township passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre. He is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Brenda Gibson in 2022.
Born on April 25, 1952, in Clinton, IA, he is the son of the late Bert Gibson and Mavis Pugh and stepmother, Helen Gibson.
A graduate of Proctor R. Hug High School, Larry furthered his education at Orange Coast Community College, where he earned an associate degree in accounting. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. Larry was employed at Procter and Gamble until his retirement in 2018.
Larry was well known for his warmth and humor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often bringing laughter and lighthearted mischief to gatherings as a self-proclaimed jokester and troublemaker. His love for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his personality; he cherished hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, and any opportunity to immerse himself in nature's beauty.
He is survived by daughters, Chasity Flis and fiancé, Shawn Stec, Kristi Gibson, Jamie Gibson, Ashley Gibson and significant other, Scott Grimes; sisters, Theresa Dale, Joann Stallman; brother, Theodore Knudsen; grandchildren, Dylan Flis and significant other Cameron Dennis, Hailey Flis and significant other Tyler Fogleman, Amin Gibson; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and amazing friends at Stony Mountain Campground.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by, sister, Dorothy Gibson-Finley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Allied Services Hospice for their care of Larry.
In lieu of flowers donations in Larry's memory can be made to Allied Services Hospice, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
