Leon H. Walburn

Leon H. Walburn Jr. of Tunkhannock, PA died Sunday evening at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. He was born in Coal Twp. on January 16, 1944 son of Shirley June Clark Walburn of Lewisburg, PA and the late Leon H. Walburn. Leon was a 1962 graduate of Shamokin High School and attended LeTourneau University in Long View, Texas. Prior to his retirement he worked at the Proctor & Gamble plant in Mehoopany for 31 years. He was a member of the Harveys Lake Gun Club and an active member of the Mehoopany Baptist Church serving as a church Deacon, working with the church Awanas Club and Helping Hands. He loved hunting, was a talented woodworker and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Roberta Hornung Walburn, son and daughter-in-law Leon and Stephanie Walburn III of Fairborn, OH daughters and sons-in-law Valerie Walburn Romollino and William Romollino of Allendale, NJ, Kimberly and William Mosey of Ocean, NJ, brothers Wade of East Petersburg, PA, Arthur of Shamokin, PA, Scott of Tunkhannock, PA, Marshall of Mehoopany, PA, sisters Mary Dietz of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, Alberta Elliott of Lancaster, PA, Frances Emrick of Pottstown, PA and grandsons Jacob, Benjamin, Nathan, Fletcher and Matthew. He will be deeply missed. Visitation with the family will be at 10 am on Wednesday followed by funeral services at 11 am at the Mehoopany Baptist Church. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
