Linda L. Gesek of Clarks Summit died on Thursday at Regional Hospital, Scranton. She was the widow of Albert W. Gesek, her husband of over 31 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George, Jr. and Esther McGuire Rice. She attended Dalton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Clarks Summit and Dalton Fire Companies Ladies Auxiliary. In her earlier years, she was also a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Scranton.

Surviving are children, Kenneth Gesek and fiancé Nicole Stook of Scranton, Joyce Hiza and husband David of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, James Gesek and Wife Nichelle of West Abington Township, and Albert Gesek, Jr. And wife Jennifer of New Jersey, Kelly Drum and husband Martin of Michigan; grandchildren: Sarah and Jennifer Drum, Abigail and Morgan Hiza, Allie, Maggie, Emma, Benjamin, Chloe, Bella, and James Gesek, Cassie Harrison, and Allie Stook; a brother, Charlie Rice of Clarks Summit; two sisters, Joyce Bede of Dalton, and Sally Rice of Dalton; and beloved companions, her dog Caesar and cat Midnight.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Rice.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clarks Summit Fire Company or Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, Dallas, PA.
