Lois J. Phillips (Miller)

Lois J. Phillips (Miller) passed away on Tuesday at Allied Services. She was 91. She was preceded in death by John Taylor, her partner of 46 years, who passed away on April 30, 2021.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Lydia Lengler Miller and graduated from Technical High School in Scranton ,where she was a proud member of the cheerleading team. She went on to work as a secretary for Bell Telephone.

Lois loved her three dogs that she got from the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. She was a big supporter of the Humane Society. Most days she could be found walking the dog or working in the yard on the flowers she enjoyed so much. She was an avid collector of teddy bears. Lois was very devoted to her family.

Surviving is a daughter Carol Branning and husband Don, Scott Twp.; a son Tom Phillips and wife Theresa, Jessup; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren;  and eight nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a brother Ray Miller and sisters Grace Dougherty and Alice Chapman.

A funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
