Lyman Walters

Lyman G. Walters Jr. Lyman G. Walters Jr. of Mehoopany died at his home on Sunday January 5, 2014. He was born in Kingston on June 26, 1947 son of the late Lyman G. and Betty Mowry Walters Sr. Lyman attended Tunkhannock High School and worked on the family farm all of his life. He was the owner of Walters Trucking and Walters Transport Co in Mehoopany. which was associated with the Tunkhannock Area School District for over fifty years. He served as Fire Chief for FWM Fire Department in Mehoopany for 12 years. Lyman enjoyed the outdoors, but most of all his family was everything to him. Lyman was preceded in death by an infant sister Connie Walters. Surviving is his wife of 45 years Charlene Goodwin Walters, sons and spouses, Lyman III and Cathy Walters, Roger and Christina Walters, Kenneth and Keri Walters all of Mehoopany, and Kevin and Kimberly Walters of Forkston; daughters and spouses, Brenda Walters and James Wertman of Mehoopany, Connie and Eric Earls of Brownville, NY, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Interment will be on the Family Farm.
