Margaret A. Ball (Maggie or Peg), 85, of Tunkhannock passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 66 years, Norm Ball in 2020.

Born on July 9, 1938 in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Peter Marcinonis and Anna N. Marcinonis Strumski.

Peg was involved in several groups and organizations throughout her life. Peg and a few friends started the TOPS Club in the 1970's. She was a proud Democrat and organized the Wyoming County Democrat Women's Society in 1993. She was the president for 7 years and vice president for 19 years until she stepped down in 2020. She was involved with her husband in the Wyoming County Democrat Committee as Vice Chair. She also worked the Election Board for 50 years. She was also a Lake Winola Lioness. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader along with being active in the Tunkhannock Swimming Group and Tunkhannock Baseball when her children were little. She was a member of the St. Mary's Alter and Rosary Society.

She was a secretary for the Riverside Park Commission for over 20 years. Peg's greatest and proudest accomplishment was the group her and Norm started in 1996, In Loving Memory which helped parents that lost a child. This was her passion and they helped many families. They also established A Loving Memory Garden in Riverside Park in 1996 as a place for families to plant a flower in memory of their loved one.

She enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, her flower beds, Pokeno Card Club. She loved trips to the Atlantic City Casino with her brother, Pete, visiting her daughter in Watertown, NY, babysitting Blakely and Blaize when they were little, the many cruises they took with their friends, Phil and Thelma Shebby. She loved her family and was proud of them. She was always happy to attend their ball games, swim meets, and dance recitals.

In 2022, she moved to the Winola View Apartments to be close to her daughter Debbie. It was a big move for Peg but she loved it there. The residents made her feel welcomed and many new friendships were made. She looked forward to their Tuesday dinners, Bingo, and Bill's breakfasts on Wednesday.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie Migliori and husband Ted; Patti LaBarr and husband George; son, Brad Ball and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Carly and Zach Migliori, Paige and George N. LaBarr, Blakely and Blaize N. Ball; sister-in-law, Carol Hilliard; special cousin Mary Ann Doherty; many cousins; nieces; nephews; special friends, Chris Stivala (her daughter from another mother), Irene Shemanski (who was like her sister), Gloria Pasternak, John Lee, Rosie Barr, Thelma Shebby, Theresa Zdaniewicz, Stacy Huber, Bob Baker, Lexie Plevyak (who called her gram 3), a special girl named Izzie who would always make Peg happy with her little hugs and kisses.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Norm Ball, Jr.; brothers, Peter Marcinonis, Joseph Marcinonis, William Strumski; sister, Jane Evans and her guardian angel Ellie Dougherty.

Peg would want everyone to "Always be kind to one another!"

Family and friends are invited to attend Peg's funeral services which will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, 326 Maple Drive, Dalton, PA 18414 with Pastor Robin Filmore and Deacon Ray Pieretti, presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

A viewing will be held from 9:00AM until the time of service on Friday.
