Marie Kelleher Karam, 87, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, with her family by her side.
Marie was born on August 5, 1938, to Vincent and Catherine Kelleher. Growing up Marie would say she led a fairy tale like existence with her parents in "Nativity". Marie attended high school at Marywood Seminary. She went on to attend college then obtained her master's degree from Marywood University. She had an extensive and fulfilling career. She was an educator at Keystone College, the Director of Career Services at Marywood University, and she was most proud of the business that she created and retired from, A Perfect Resume.
On July 15, 1967, she married the love of her life, William Karam. They travelled the world together before settling down and raising a family. Her husband and love of her life passed away not even three months ago. They are now dancing in heaven together.
Marie is survived by her daughter Katie Karam and son-in-law Mike LaRosa of Clarks Summit, PA and son Billy Karam, of Lyons, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren and best buddies, Gabe LaRosa, Ellie LaRosa, and Piper LaRosa of Clarks Summit and Faolin Conley-Karam of Boulder, CO. DeDe was everything to her grandchildren. She would do anything for them, and they would do anything for her.
Marie is survived by her sister Joan Foley and husband John (Throop, PA), brother-in-law Joseph Karam (Scranton, PA), brother-in-law Albert and wife Marie Karam (Chapman Lake, PA), sister-in-law Theresa and husband Bill Zuerblis (Scranton, PA), sister-in-law Marlene Karam (Scranton, PA), sister-in-law Evelyn Karam (Scranton, PA), sister-in-law Alice Karam (Scranton), and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her amazing parents, her beloved husband Bill and her brothers-in-law Frank Karam, John Karam, Robert Yovish and Robert Horutz; her sisters-in-law Sally Yovish, Carol Karam, and Mary Ann Hortuz.
With her loving family and her strong faith Marie navigated the last ten years with a diagnosis of Parkinson's and Dementia which she fought valiantly. There wasn't a day that went by that she was not smiling, laughing, and telling us that she loved us until she was no longer able to speak.
The family would like to thank the amazing Allied Hospice especially Kelly Langan who kept us calm. We would like to thank Bebe and Eddie. We would also like to publicly thank Bill and Marie's closest Florida friends. Thank you- Clay, Sue, Rita, Tom, Jocelyn, and Tamara. You are all angels. Your kindness, wisdom, compassion, and friendship over the past few years have meant more to us than you will ever know. We love you.
