Marilyn J. Esslinger

Marilyn J. Esslinger, 92, of Clarks Summit, died on Wednesday evening at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Spencer. Prior to retirement, she was the co-owner of Roto Rooter in Clarks Summit. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, the Wally Gordon Community Singers, and the Red Hatters Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Esslinger; a daughter, Bonnie Esslinger-Coles; and two brothers, Homer and Howard Spencer.

Surviving are a son, Robert Esslinger of Florida; a daughter, Judy Driesbaugh of Florida; grandchildren Tiffany Coles, Cassandra Smith, Jason Driesbaugh, Jennifer Proeger, Adele Bennett, Brianna Smith, Colton Esslinger, and Delaney Clark; eleven great grandchildren.

Marilyn was known as "grandma" and "Gorgeous" to many who knew her. She helped whenever she could and was a caretaker to all. Her home was always filled with love and laughter.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Mountain View Care Center and Mary Nicholof for their years of care, dedication, and unending kindness to Marilyn.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 9th at 1 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects from noon until the time of the service.
