Marjorie "Midge" Mcdonnell Dingee

Marjorie "Midge" McDonnell Dingee, 94, of Clarks Summit, died on Wednesday at United Methodist Homes - Wesley Village. Her husband of 25 years is Emmett Dingee. She was preceded in death by Frank L. McDonnell, Jr., her husband of 44 years.

Born at home in Glenburn, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Louise Wrigley Edwards. She was a graduate of Geisinger Nursing School. Prior to retirement she, along with her husband Frank, owned McDonnell Jewelers in North Scranton. She was also a clerk/lecturer for Weight Watchers for over 40 years.

Midge was a long-time member of Countryside Community Church in Newton Township, Antique Automotive Club of America, Model A Ford Club of America, and Steamtown A's.

Surviving are a son, Frank McDonnell III and his wife Sue, West Chester; daughter Louise McDonnell and partner Chris Loftus of Clarks Summit; two granddaughters, Eleanor Feit and husband Jeff of Kennett Square and Jessie Brennan and husband Peter Steffen, Jr. of Hawley; great granddaughters Zoe Feit and Jayden Isla Steffan; stepchildren Emmett Dingee, Jr., James Dingee, and Carol Mangliaviti; several step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Rush and Doris Gregory.

A funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. James Hollister. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
