Martha L. Kettle

Martha L. Kettle, 96, of Newton Township died on Monday morning at Allied Hospice, Scranton. She was the widow of Paul J. Kettle, who died in 2000.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Ralph and Martha Dunn. Prior to retirement, she was employed at the Lackawanna County Courthouse.

She is survived by sons Ralph Kettle and wife Mary of Ransom Township, and Joseph Kettle and wife Sandi of Dalton; stepson Paul Kettle, Jr. and wife Camilla of Maryland; grandchildren Ralph and wife Heather, Jennifer and fiancé Tyler, Evan and wife Kristin, and Jason; great grandchildren Audrie, Dimitri, and Adeline; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Ralph Dunn, William Dunn, and stepbrothers James Fairclough, Sr. and Harry Fairclough.

A funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Karen Davis Rickaby. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
