Martha Montross

Martha Montross, 76, of Tunkhannock passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Marywood Heights, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Wayne Montross in 2011.

Born on August 31, 1947 in Tunkhannock, she is the daughter of the late George and Leona (Cook) Strohl.

Martha was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School class of 1966. She was a member of Eaton Baptist Church for about 40 years.

Martha had an undeniable passion for nature and spent countless hours tending to her flowers and plants. She was always attentive to her children and grandchildren providing support and encouragement to schoolwork and other activities. As her health declined recently, she was very appreciative and grateful for the support she received from the family and her health care professionals. She always went out of her way to say thank you!

She is survived by her son, John Montross; grandchildren, John and Hannah Montross, Tammy Belcher; brothers, Albert, Henry, Larry, Paul Strohl; sister, Dolores Mock.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by daughters, Sharon Mae Montross and Carol Ann Montross; brothers, Walter and Leon Strohl; sisters, Viola, Rebecca and Fern.

Family and friends are invited to attend Martha's celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:30 AM from Eaton Baptist Church, 820 Hunter Highway, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Rev. Dennis Jacob presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 3:00-5:30PM from Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
