Mary Ellen Lavelle

Mary Ellen Lavelle, 68, of Lake Winola, passed away on Thursday, April 18 at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Robert E. J. Lavelle and Nora Lavelle. She was a 1974 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. The family moved to Lake Winola after her graduation.

She worked for many years in the garment industry making American flags. Hobbies included cross stitch and working on puzzles. She enjoyed cook-outs with friends, the occasional Rolling Rock and listening to her scanner to keep track of the Lake Winola Fire Company activities.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Robert "Tiny" Lavelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake, 1872 Dalton Road, Lake Winola. Interment will be private at Cathedral Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lake Winola Fire Company #1, 1204 PA-307, Factoryville, PA  18419.
